Are Scentsy Candles Safe For Pets?

Owning a pet is a wonderful thing, they provide companionship, exercise and even entertainment. But there is one down side with owning a furry little friend...pet odor. As much as we love our pets most of us also enjoy a nice smelling home. People often use traditional scented candles to counter act pet odors but they aren't very safe. Pets can burn themselves on the open flame or with the hot wax. When using Scentsy wax in our warmers there is very little chance of your favorite animal burning themselves as our warmers do not use an open flame and our wax is specially formulated to melt at a low temperature, it gets warm but not hot enough to burn.

However, there are other concerns. www.petbutler.com states that scented candles can release volatile organic compounds as well as toxins like lead, naphthalene, formaldehyde, and phthalates that could potentially harm your pet.

I highly recommend that you do some research and consult your veterinarian in advance to find out how fragrance products can affect your dog, cat or any other animal you might own and care for.
